Anna Zalewska (born 1985) lives and works in Poznań, Poland. Although she still belongs to the younger generation, she has already developed an expressive, unique style. In her paintings, the artist combines two seemingly distant surfaces. Dominant – focused on the search for the perfect form of the human body, and the surface of emotions – illusoryly shapeless, escaping all nomenclature. By rejecting detail, strong geometrization and some kind of symbolism, the artist allows them to interpenetrate. The title of each work is a guide to interpreting it. As the author admits, the title freezes the moment that accompanied the creation and inspiration of the painting. All artworks are painted in an original, unique technique.
